Composition: Cefaclor

Therapeutic Class: 2nd Generation Cephalosporin-type antibiotic

Indication: Clofort is a broad-spectrum second generation cephalosporin- type antibiotic indicated in the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media, skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections.

Dosage Form: – Suspension: Powder for reconstitution 100ml

Strength (Pack size):

– 125mg/5ml (100ml) – 250mg/5ml (100ml)

Dosage:

125mg/5ml:

1. 20mg/kg/day ( mild to moderate infections )
2. 40mg/kg/day ( severe infections and otitis media)
3. 125mg/5ml (<1 yrs – 2.5ml tid, 1-5 yrs – 5ml tid/7.5ml bid) –

250mg/5ml:

• 20mg/kg/day ( mild to moderate infections )
• 40mg/kg/day ( severe infections and otitis media)
• 250mg/5ml (>5 yrs – 5ml tid/7.5ml bid)
