The Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) and SES HD PLUS, Ghana’s leading high-definition (HD) satellite broadcast service provider, will reaffirm their commitment to developing the sport of Armwrestling on Monday, March 27, 2023.

The two organizations will sign the second season of the ‘HD+ Kids Armwrestling’ program, a high school scouting initiative, at the Executive Boardroom of the GNAT Hall in Accra.

In a statement, Mr. Charles Osei Asibey, President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, stated that the partnership with HD+ is aimed at preparing future champions as mandated by the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF), with a focus on encouraging participation, particularly among juveniles.

The second season’s roadmap will be revealed at the signing event, which will be attended by representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Sports Authority, the Ghana Olympic Committee, and the Ghana Education Service.

Adelaide Abbiw-Williams, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SES HD PLUS Ghana, expressed her satisfaction in continuing the partnership, stating that the HD+ Kids Armwrestling Championship aims to promote children’s participation in armwrestling and provide them with safe, enjoyable, and educational viewing experiences.

The championship is open to children aged 12 to 16 years, and several participants from the 2022 event have been selected for the National Armwrestling Juvenile Academy and will represent Ghana in the upcoming Africa Armwrestling Championship and the Africa Games, which are set to take place in Ghana.
